Student exits the test and it shows as 'finished' when they return

Understand why this happens and how to solve this issue related to the device clock.

Sometimes a teacher sets a time window for a test, but when the student leaves and tries to return, the test appears as "finished" — even though it's still within the allowed window.

Most common cause

The student's device clock may be out of sync. The system compares the device time with the time window set by the teacher, so a discrepancy can block access.

How to fix it

  1. Check that the student's device clock is correct and synchronised.
  2. Enable "Set time automatically" in the device settings.
  3. Ask the student to refresh the page and try again.
