How to use rubrics in assessments?

Rubrics allow you to assess students with detailed, customised criteria. You can create them in two ways:

Method 1 — Create the rubric first

1. Create a new rubric, give it a name and optionally a description.
2. Define the criteria, preview and adjust until satisfied. Save it.
3. Go to an existing assessment or create a new one, setting the grading type to "Rubric".
4. Inside the assessment, click "Rubric" and select the one you just created. You can edit it at any time.

Method 2 — Create the rubric directly in the assessment

1. Open an existing assessment or create a new one, setting the grading type to "Rubric".
2. Inside the assessment, click "Rubric" and select "Create new rubric".
